29inch vs 26 inch bikes

Question
iam wondering if you can give me all the advantages and disadvantages between commuting on pavement with 29 inch wheels and 26 inch wheeled mountain bikes, can you please be specific, with speed, agility, durability, acceleration from stop and go,and slow down/speed up comparison, thanks

Answer
A significant difference between a 29er and a 26er is the weight of the wheel; since 29ers are larger they also weight slightly more. Less strong or inexperienced bikers may prefer a 26er because it takes less force to accelerate at the same rate as a 29er. More experienced riders, on the other hand, are likely to prefer a 29er because there is more momentum once the wheel is in motion. The increased momentum a 29er offers results in faster movement over open terrain and more distance traveled for the same amount of effort, once the target speed is reached.

If your looking to fast, a 29" is the way to go. If you want durrability and a more "rugged feel" ride the go with the 26"
