Just bought the boat it has been sitting for a year took it out ran fine 2 or 3 times now it wnt idle unless engine start up idle is engaged took carbs off soaked them havent put them back on yet the engine is pretty shakey not bad tho it also is sluggish now do u think maybe it just needs a tune up.

Wow, a Chrysler? It's an oldy. Yes, it sounds like a thorough tune-up is warranted, because the carb diaphrams might be dried out and cracked. Also check the timing, spark plug wires, etc., and don't forget to get a compression test, and make certain the gear housing oil is replaced.

Just be satisfied the costs associated with the getting the motor up and running properly will be justified.
