hi i have a 1990 bayliner capri at full throtte i lose power but if i back it off a bit n find the sweet spot thats what i call it it begins to speed up slowly untill it reaches it max power do u think theres something wrong with the throttle cable ts a 50 force motor dont laugh ill take suggestions the prop is dinged up bad too i got stuck on a rock can that hurt ur boat ty the beginner eric

Hi Eric...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to respond to your question. By the way, I'm not a mechanic.

Your symptoms suggest four possibilities. There could be a problem with the throttle control at the helm, or the shifter at the engine, or the cable is deteriorated or needs lubrication. Or, there maybe a problem with the carb.

Since your not well experienced, I recommend consulting a qualified and reliable marine mechanic to resolve the matter.
