Tilt/Trim wiring

2016/7/15 18:32:05

Question
I have a 1980 200hp Evinrude Outboard. I have had the trim hooked up and working but it seems to always give me problems such as stop working at the most inconvenient times and the wires around the solenoid get so hot that they can burn your hand. I am assuming that something is not hooked up right and I was wondering if you might know where I can get a wiring diagram for this trim.

Answer
Hi Damon...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to respond to your question.

I'm not a mechanic, however, based on the symptom you've described, I recommend consulting a qualified and reliable OMC mechanic to resolve the problem. On the other hand, have you approached a local OMC dealer/repairer for a schematic of the wiring? Or, have you gone on line and requested one from the manufacturer?
