Ethanol gas

2016/7/16 9:27:18

Question
I have a 1995 Johnson 115 HP outboard with oil injection on my boat. Will it harm the engine if I use the 10% ethanol fuel that all the stations in Minnesota sell?

Answer
Hi Ken...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

I'm not a mechanic, but ethanol is added to gasoline throughout the winter months to make cold weather starting easier, and it burns cleaner. I can't imagine how it would harm any engine, since ethanol will likely become a primary source for fuel in the near future.
