Hocks

Question
I have me a female 4 year old in harness racing. We noticed in her last race she takes extra steps on the curves. The driver says she's perfect at the straight aways, which we noticed but when it came to going around the curves she takes those extra steps. She's never had this issue before. He had to slow her down because he thought she was going to break. Her back hocks seem a little sunk in more than usual and our trainer suggested getting the hocks injected..

Does this sound like that kind of issue? She seems young to be getting hock injections.

Answer
hi well your vet should give her a thorough vet examination and then he or she can go from there on finding out what is bothering her. i do know that they do inject hocks and sometimes that works for a short period of time, but that does not cure her problem. now the other thing i would suggest is to get a physic to come to your barn and read the horse as they can find out what is bothering the horse .. i have used this method many times with great success.. hope this helps you. thanks ED HESS
