Question
QUESTION: how long does it take to get your license at being a Thoroughbred horse trainer??and where do you get it at?
-richard

ANSWER: hi  well it isn't something that you can just go out and get, you have to have experience behind you with working with race horses for awhile before you can apply for your trainers license. i would advise that you get a job taking care of horses at a farm first to see if you are interested in continuing on to become a trainer. there is so much you would have to know in order to apply for your license. cleaning stalls, grooming, hot walking, knowing everything about the horse itself. feeding ,leg care, what to feed and how much. i worked about 2-3 years before i went to get a job at the race track and then finally got  my chance to get a assistant trainers license. following that i worked a few years doing that before i applied for my trainers license. you have to give your full life to the horse. but it is well worth it if you love what you do. i wish you luck in your future under taking . thanks ED HESS

QUESTION: i currently weigh about 150 pounds and my height is about 5 11" is there any chance i can be a jockey under these conditions i would say?

Answer
hi  well your weight and your height are both against you as you should weigh no more then about 110. you could try to become a gentleman jockey. you ride in steeplechase races, hurdle races and flat hunt club races,so you can weigh more. thanks ED HESS
