Question:  Hello Michael, I would like to surprise my Dad with a Rate O Slide.  He lost his years ago.  Can you tell me where to get one?
Thanks,
Brenda

Answer
Good morning Brenda,

I bought my first rate o slide in los Angeles.on Atlantic
Blvd.I paid some cheap amount for it. used it during the 60's and 70's with very good results.Unfortunatly,my ex wife.threw it out by mistake.I was always looking for one to replace it. The only place that new what it was, WAs the Gamblers Musuem in las Vegas,They had one but it was not for sale. I traced Sarge Colmans widow to Palm Srings. And learned that she passed on.
then a buddy of mine who was always dumpster digging,And worked in a  Thrift Store in San Diego. Found a Box of Racing Parfanalia.and gave it to me. Lo and behold there it was with instuctions and all.this was in 84,it was the original ,but the claming numbers were out of date.when the computers came out i had it re-written and up-dated and put it on my computer racing program.unfortunatly it is not for sale. There is another slide rule by Ray Talbot called Pace o Speed.Which  I believe is still advertised in American Turf magazine.which I feel is pretty good.Check out all the racing magazines at your favorite magazine rack. And you might Find it advertised.Good Luck, I'm Very sorry that Rate O slide is off the mkt for 45 years. My e-Mail address is [email protected] father is a very lucky man to have a caring and thoughtful daughter like yourself.I
have two daughters my self and one of them can handicap just as good as me.
                           Good Luck
                            Michael
