lasix and hydration

2016/7/15 11:29:22

Question
curious to the effects of lasix and dehydration of the race horse. how to combat this issue? does reducing the amount of lasix help in keeeping the horse hydrated? what about the prevention of bleeding with the use of lasix, if you reduce the amount what then can you use to help fight bleeding? thank you.

Answer
Horse recover from lasix rapidy when allowed water. It really does not seem to bother them. It definately helps a bleeder, although a bad bleeder will sometimes bleed even on lasix. These horses will usually do better with double lasix.

There are a lot of products out there that claim to stop a horse from bleeding without lasix. I have not found any that work.
