Question
when i increase my running past 3 miles. i get severe abdominal muscle pain that lasts for a week. hurts to cough or sneeze and hurts to set up. after a few days of rest it feels like its feeling better but when i go for a run my abdominal muscles hurt. i rested for 8 weeks after a achillis injury and when i started back up. i started with 1 mile then after 2 weeks i went to 2 miles every other day then so on. when i got to 4 miles the pain came back. im a triathlete and have a half ironman in july but there is no way i can run it this way. by the way i had a mri and no hernia was found. when i run the pain goes down to my groin and its like i can feel where the muscles are attached. i get the feeling im not stretching right and the muscles are tight pulling at my abdominals. just a hunch. hope you can help my problem thanks

This is tough, i'm not completely sure. What did the doctor say about it in detail, any specific diagnosis, or a list of potentials? I wonder if it's gas or something with the colon possibly? Although going down your groin, could be urinary tract infection, so many possibilities. I wish i could help more, but I would try and go to a specialist and see if they can help you.

Sorry.
