Bone Spur

2016/7/22 10:13:00

Question
Dear John,
I realize you are not a doctor but you do know about injuries so I am hoping you might be able to help.  A few years ago, a fifty pound box fell on the back of my right heel (where if you were wearing sandals the strap would rest).  It knocked out a bone leaving me with a bone spur which constantly rubs against a nerve everytime I walk or stand.  The pain has been unbearable since.  Do you know if bone spurs every go away on their own?  Is there a surgical procedure to remove them that you know of?  Any help you could provide would be appreciated.  I can't even fit into my right shoes because the spur gets in the way.  Thanks. Sincerely,
Noriya

Answer
Hi Noriya
You can use a heel cup  which might reduce the discomfort. You can also have a cortsone injection which respond quite well in extreme situations like yours.I would consult with a podiatrist Noriya.Just don't give up on it.

To your success

John
