hip/buttocks pain

Question
I am a 39 yr. old female and about a year and a half ago while jogging stepped in a dip on the path I was jogging.  My other leg slammed into the ground.  I walked a while and it felt better but then tried to continue jogging and had immediate pain. An MRI and Xray found no cause for the continued pain (2 months after injury) and have have been seeing a Orthopedic doctor and also having physical therapy.  They have given me lots of cortisone shots, muscle relaxer shots and nothing is working.  I have started seeing a new Ortho, and seeing a osteotherapist but still no improvement.  The pain seems to be my gluteus it is concentrated in my hip on the right side and occasionally extends down my leg and across my buttocks.  It is mostly a burning sensation but when I jog it becomes even more painful.  It is pretty much constant.  I can't sleep on that side at all I haven't been able to run or walk (for exercise) for over 6 months now.  Do you have any insights how to get this healed? Or what is causing it?  They thought maybe I had a shorter leg and made me a special insole but it's not helping either.  This morning I woke up in so much pain I don't even feel like walking.  My legs have become so weak.  I don't even know what I can do that won't cause it to be in more pain.  They suggested bike riding or swimming which don't seem to make it worse, but still it's not healing.  The pain has stayed the same.  So any advice would be wonderful.  I am also living overseas and feel the language barrier is a problem.  Thanks.

Answer
Hi DeEtte
Base on your description and how it happened i feel like you have a clear case for sciatica.Had it my self years ago.It is very hard me to communicate my thoughts with email since i really need to ask you many questions to get some some real pin point focus. Is there any chance we can talk on the phone.Do you have access to skype which is free. You can contact me with my personal email at [email protected] 505 271 5909 MT albuquerque NM.I have copied a link for you to research on this, but i feel this can get corrected fairly quickly with some stretching exercises swimming biking.I would definitely not continue or see any more doctors for this situation. They are worthless and just milk your pocket book.Have many stories on this over the years.I'm available for you to talk any hour of the day that is convenient for you.Let get this fixed DeEtte.I look forward to your response.

All the best
to you

John
