Body fat (%)

2016/7/22 10:12:30

Question
What is the average body fat(%) for teenagers of different ages?
I am about 5'2, 16 years old and have a body fat percentage of 24%.
I was wondering if that was low, normal or high.

Answer
Kaitlyn,

For your size and height I would say it is likely a little high. How much do you weigh?? Everyone is different, however, at a young age, you should probably be around the 14-16% level. Staying active and fit will keep you in line. The most important thing these days is to eat healthy. Eating fast food and sodas will do nothing but clog your arteries. I know it isn't the cool thing to eat healthy, however, you will thank me in years. Try eating salads, seafood, chicken, juices, water.  Sodas and sugary foods will put weight on very fast and is hard to burn off.

Hope this helps
