Question
john,
i run everyday a minumum of 5 miles at a 8:40 to 9:00 minute pace. i try to get in at least 45 minutes of running with slight hills and little speedwork occasionally. 35 to 45 miles per week. about 150 miles per month. i \try to stay away from tomatos or anythong that has to do with a tomato. 2600 calories per day. for the most part my diet hasnt changed and i only recently started to get heartburn. i am 5'10" and weigh
157 lbs. heartburn started this week. blood in urine has been going on for about 8 months but in that time it has happened about 5 times. and only happens twice in the day and then does not return until a few weeks later. hope this is enough info.

1: lately while running i get heartburn extremely bad and the middle of my chest burns up
to my throat,i also geet a mouthful of saliva constantly. this mostly while running.
2: ocassionally i get blood in my urine. i have
heard this could be caused by long distance running. it only occurs every 3 weeks to a couple of months and only twice during that day. what is going on to cause this? thanks for any advice!
i run every day at least 5 miles to half marathon distance.

Answer
Hi Gary
I have decided do to the time period you have been experiencing blood in urine that i really think i should not comment. It is not uncommen to have this, and more than likely it is not a problem.Their is a number of things that could contribute to it.I would contact a medical profestional for evaluation just to make make sure everything is ok.They might even have one on this site. Most heartburn is diet related and you would have to evaluate your diet.Perhaps their is a nutrionist on this site.Sorry i could not be of more help Gary.
