HIP PAIN AFTER RUNNING

2016/7/22 10:12:35

Question
I'm 28 and just started jogging about 3 weeks ago.  I have hurt my right hip, and it won't go away.  It even hurts when i'm just walking.  My doctor told me to stop jogging for 10-14 days, but I'm concerned about when I start running again.  How do I know how I injured it, and how can I prevent this from happening again?  I really hate to take so much time off.

Answer
Hi Kristin
If you just started running, you probably have a number of imbalances that have to be addressed as time moves on such as your hips.Trace back your running and you will find the answer to your injury.I'm sure it is just a little soft tissue situation.Start doing some light complete streching of all body parts.Start taking 500mg vit. c with your 3 meals a day. This is just part of the start up phase.I no nothing about your bio and past present fitness level so i really can't comment on how it happened. You have to have patience when your starting a program like this, and let your body adapt over time. You did not mention where in or on or which side or level of discomfort and when it started.I allways need lots of detail to comment appropiatly.

The very best

John
