beginner w/glute pain

Question
Joined a boot camp that hit hard on the jogging -- turned out very hard for me after not running for about 7 years!  anyway, I have been making progress, but have had pain in my left hip (mostly after I jog) and now deep in my left glute. I want to keep going with my training and progress...but also don't want to make whatever is wrong worse. (I also recently started weight training.) Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi terry
Make sure you do a complete warm down and strech all over. The pain in glute is probably where the hamstring inserts. The streching will really help. You can also take some epson salt baths. You can get the salts in your local pharmacy.Take 500mg of vit.c with your 3 meals a day.Get into the cool down with a lot of easy streching.Quad,ham.hips,calf...Upperbody also.I'm pretty sure these things will do the job if your consistent. The baths are fantastic.

The very best to ya
Terry
