Jogging and Itching muscles

2016/7/22 10:14:15

Question
I used to run (soccer for 12 years), but it has been 10 years since I ran more than 100yds.

I decided to get back into a daily type of exercise and I took my first run.  After about 4 minutes, my thighs began to itch all over, it was awful.  I tried a week later, and same thing.

Any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Julie

Your over working your new muscles, they are tired, going to be sore and torn if u do  not do this slowly, they itch because blood flow has had to go to them being newly used.,

Lay low and do a twenty minute warm up and cool down as well.
Work slow and regularly but not do it all at once and expect results.

Ten years your old muscles have been long rested, u go out and run and expect them to be updated NOT.  DO slow things, lifts, legs, sits, weights, walk briskly with arms flying before running. Warm your body up and muscles, legiments and start slowly and work up again or u will have bad problems with torn mucles, ligaments, knee problems, etc

Our bodies slow down at rest, we go out and think I will run only three mile, it might feel like ten because your body is saying NO NO please do not do this to me so quickly.

Go slow and easy with warm ups and cool downs and inbetween do some crunches, leg lifts anything to music to modivate u to get in shape before hard work outs.

Kind Regards
patt
