Recovering from a Metatarsal Stress Fracture: A Safe Return to Running

Question
I am 3 1/2 weeks out from a 2nd metarsal stress fracture.  I was
running between 40-45 miles per week prior to injury.  3 weeks
prior I began running in new shoes.  I also just began training for
the Chicago marathon.  I have been cross training since the injury
and not runing at all.  (cycling, swimming, yoga)  I have been given
the ok to beging running again, but am not sure how to resume so
that I do not re-injure myself.  I need help on a schedule to work
myself safely back to a normal training schedule.
Thanks so much for your help!
Kristi
