Question
Hey, i just got into tree climbing. I found a video on youtube on how to make a rope harness which is what I have been using.
My mom said i will cut something off and said I cant do it.
My dad said yea and said we will by you a harness.

What I need to know is what is a good cheap harness that will hold around 100-150 pounds?

Some where below 50$ or so?

Answer
Dear Alex,

Go to this link:  http://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en-us/shop/climb/harnesses

Scroll down until you almost hit the bottom of the page.  You'll find the Alpine Bod harness and the Kid's A-bod.  Depending on how large you are, one of these harnesses will perform very well.  I own two Alpine Bods myself and my sons used them for years.  They're safe, cheap and they last for a long time.  Make sure you understand the correct way to lock the buckle if you get one.

Yours,

Robert Walton

P.S.  I know little about tree climbing.  I assume some sort of rope is used.  Black Diamond also has excellent ropes for a variety of climbing uses.  You might want to check them out.  Stay safe.
