Tuolumne beginner climbing area?

Question
Jeff,
What a neat service this is....my question is, where in Tuolumne to toprope with beginner/kids?  Is puppy dome best option?  Or should I be looking at pothole?  My son is five and will be doing his first toprope using full body harness.  He's psyched. I'm leaving in a couple hours so you may not get this in time to give me info....no worries.

Answer
David, sorry this is late in coming and I hopr your clib was successful.

In my opinion the best for the little folks is Pothole Dome. On the West side there are bolts for belay on some longer topropes and some trees for short climbs. I have taken my kids there a couple times. After that I would move over to Puppy Dome.  Also on the West Face of Lembert there are some slabs you could easily set up. These are the slabs below the start of Northwest Books.

Sounds like you have a handle on the area already, but I hope this helps for the future.

Jeff
