Question
Hello! I have been interested in rock climbing for a couple of years now, but i have no knowledge of how to get started. Do you know of any good books, or places i could go to, to get started? thanks, melissa

Answer
I would suggest that you take a lesson at your local climbing gym.

www.climbing.com
www.rockandice.com

Both of these web sites have listings of indoor rock gyms and guide services.  If there are none in your area, there is a series of books called "How to rock climb" which are very informative.  If you're looking for a broad overview of mountaineering, which includes rock climbing, the book "Mountaineers:  Freedom of the Hills" is considered by some to be the climbers bible.  Let me know if I can be of any more help.
