Cams and dirty ropes

2016/7/22 8:48:19

Question
Hi.  I am looking into investing a set of cams.  Do you have any suggestions as to if one brand name is better than another?  Also, my rope that I am using is really dirty just from use.  I have heard that you can put it in the washer. Is this true and will it cause any wear and tear to my rope?

Answer
Kasey,

I like BD Camelot's for larger cams #2 and up. For smaller units, I like Colorado Custom Hardware aliens.
Yes, you can put your rope in the washer. You may want to put it in a mesh bag as the washer can put a big rats nest of tangles in the rope.

Thanks,
