Question
i am a 5'6 130 lb sophomore girl in my second year of rowing. my 4k is a 2:10
split. do i have a chance to row in college? i want to know what my chances are i
row for a very highly competative team and love the sport

Answer
Hi Hailley: With your excellent 4K time, your chances of rowing on a competitive college crew are 100%, provided you are willing to put the effort in.

Just about all college crews accept walk-ons and non-scholarship rowers to try out.  Generally, no one is cut (unless they do stupid stuff like miss practices or break team rules).  Having experience like you do will get you at least a look at the Feshman Varsity boat, and even the Varsity 8 at a smaller program.

Good Luck/AP
