underwater dig cam

Question
Hello, I am a fairly new diver who is interested in dabbling into some underwater photography. I have purchased a Canon power shot 10 MP digital cam w/waterproof case. I am now... because obviously a beginner, am concerned that the flash wont be enough at any significant depth I live in Hawaii so visiblity is great but I am thinking once I get down to 80 or 90 feet I could really benefit from a strobe. Do you know of any strobe that is either universal or even better made for the Canon waterproof case WP-DC29? Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated."

Answer
My apologies for a late (and probably mostly useless) response.  I've been moving houses.

You are correct about a strobe coming in handy, especially at depth.  I don't have any specific advice for you about which strobe to use with that housing but my general recommendation is to first get totally wired on your weight requirements ( at depth you shouldn't need much air in your BCD or you are overweighted ) so that you can most effortlessly dive AND shoot.  It can be a bit of task loading for beginning divers.

Have fun and enjoy your photos!

saludos,
James
