Walther P1

Question
I bought a P1 9mm at an auction. The serial number is 135288. It has the same serial number on the barrel. Can you tell me what year it was made? On the right side of the slide, it has 1/66. In the center of the ejection port, it has a number 2. On left side of frame it reads Inierarms, Alex, VA. right above the serial#. What would be its worth? Everything is original.

Answer
Christian,

The P1 was a commercial variation of the P38 that was manufactured beginning in 1957.  Yours was imported by Interarms of Alexandria, VA.  The number on the slide (1/66) corresponds to the month and year of manufacture.  Yours would have been made in January, 1966.  As far as value, in 95% condition, you could expect around $400 for the gun.  90% would be about $300.  If it is in new, unfired condition you are probably looking at between $550 and $600.

Hope this helps you out...

Regards,

Doug Little
