Question
I have inherited my Dad's Winchester 30-30 model 94 & it's in immaculate condition.Probably only a couple of boxes of bullets ever fired through it. Serial # 1772437 (made in New Haven, Conn.).  I would like to know what year it was manufactured & its approximate value.. In 2004, a gunsmith offered me $800 for it. There is no way I would ever sell it.
Thank You,
Bill Chastain

Answer
Hello Bill Chastain. First, I would like to say I am sorry for the loss of your father. My father passed away a year ago this month. I miss him. Now, Your Winchester Model 94 was manufactured in 1951. The value is relevant to the condition of your rifle. The Blue Book of Gun Values by Fjestad lists it at 90% = $450.00. However, I would like to direct you to a couple of gun auction sites to get a better idea of the going price. They are GUNSAMERICA.com ; GUNBROKER.com and AUCTIONARMS.com. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
