Question
can you tell me around what year a n.r. davis double hammer/barrel, twist barrels, stamped #47 on every part, steel butt.

Answer
Hi the started making hammer guns with damascus steel barrels in 1879 they ceased making them in the early 1900s.
There no exact dates when production ended.
DO NOT FIRE this shotgun!!!!!!!!!!!
Damascus twist steel is from the black powder era.
They are very likily to blow up if fired with modern smokeless powder shells.
