Can Browning Auto-5 Handle Steel Shot? Fact vs. Fiction

A friend told me I would ruin the barrel of this shotgun if I shoot steel shot thru this barrell.
Is this Fact or Fiction? and if so...
Do they sell a steel shot replacement barrel?

Your friend is 100% correct. DO NOT shoot steel shot through your Belgium Auto 5 barrel. It will bulge the barrel, fact. The newer model Auto 5's made by Miroku for Browning are able to shoot steel shot through them and I believe they are interchangeable. Hope this helps.
