Question
i have a lot that is 122xapp 106-140 i would like to build a skating rink my question is how big do you think the rink needs to be i need to have enough room for a snack bar and seating and arcade games.Pluse the parking lot out side. Also with this type of business i did not know if i could get away with just having a fryer and being able to do the with crock pots and george formens or not? Also can you tell me where to stat looking to buy the equipment i will need i could use any and all advise you have thanks

Answer
Hi Ash,
I can't help you very much with your question because I don't really deal with that end of the business.  I teach skating but I can tell you that an average size rink skating surface in my area is about 80' x 175'.  That is only the skating floor....then of course you'd have to allow room for all the other things you mentioned in your question.

As far as having a fryer, crock pot and George Formen grill, I would suggest you talk to the board of health or someone that owns another roller rink.  The board of health is pretty picky.

Here is a web site that has a lot of information and can hopefully answer your questions.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help.  Talking to other rink owners is a great source for information too.

Good Luck.......I wish you the best.
