Part replacement and Painting

2016/7/22 14:38:38

Question
Good afternoon,

I recently purchased an older model HiFly 111 sailboard and the piece that holds the center (large) fin in place has rotted due to prolonged sun exposure.  I was wondering if that would be a part that you would carry or if you could lead me in the right direction to try to find a replacement.  I am not sure of the age of the board but believe it is more than 10 years old.  The fin is inserted from the top of the board and can be moved to a more horizontal position by stepping on it while riding.  The insert piece appears to be a tan/brown colored plastic sleeve that fits into the hole in the board with a shaped molding in the back section to hold the fin in place when horizontal.

The board is about 11 feet long.

I was also wondering about painting it, is that something that can be done and if so, is there a type of paint that you would recommend?

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Scott Cryer.

Answer
Hey Scott,

I have no idea where to get a replacement part for old HiFly boards.
You might try emailing HiFly for information. http://www.hifly.de/en

As for painting your board. Any good epoxy paint should work for your board.

Hope this helps.
Keep on sailing,
Windlover
