What to do with an Old Board

2016/7/22 14:38:52

Question
My parents have a 12' Kerma board in their garage.  It's was my older brother's and has been hanging there for at least a decade.  There is No sail, No mast, No daggerboard.  Any idea if I could get those items to get it on the water again?  Or should I just tell my parents to send it to the landfill?

Answer
Very difficult to get such old stuff and it is definitely not user friendly compared to modern equipment.  It took me years on boards like that one to learn to sail.  New equipment will have you sailing in one day with proper instruction.
You might be able to use it as a stand up paddle (SUP) board if it is not to narrow or tippy. If it still has a fin try putting it in the water and standing on it and use a paddle to move around.  If it is not too tippy good...If too tippy...junk it.
