Question
Hi, i'm making a sail for my mountian board,  the mast is a fishing rod(seems to be holding) the sail itself is made of damp proof stuff(pretty strong stuff) the support batons are plastic tubing,  i have a few questions.   how wide should my sail be? it is 150cm at the moment and 4 metres tall.

the boom i'm also gonna make out of fishing pole(it is pretty strong) but i do not know how long to make it.

i have searched online. but apparently no-one has tried to buils there own sail before(at least they have not put it online)
any help you can give would by amazing thanks

Answer
Hey Jonny,

Kudo's to you for attempting to make your own sail. I hope it works out for you. Not too sure about your building materials but trial and error are how things are developed. As for helping you out, not sure I have much advice. Google, windsurfing sails on mountainboards for some landsailing sites that show adding a windsurf sail to a board.

Also check out www.kitewing.com for a handheld sail that is used on mountainboards, skis, rollerblades, etc. It may give you some ideas on your construction.

Sorry I couldn't help more.
Best of luck with your project,
Windlover
