I am a 60 yr. old retired man, I would like to try rideing a bicycle .I am in good shape and wanted to try bikeing.I don't know what type bike to buy, should I go to Wallmart or where? I just want somthing good that I will like. What should I do?
Answer -
I would need to know what type of riding you plan to do, and what type of riding experience you have. There are many variables to be considered here. My recommendations would be different if you are looking for something to ride 10 miles a day on flat terrain then if you are looking to join a bike club and ride 30-50 miles a day.

Please give me more details so I can advise.

Scott<> I have no riding experience I just want to ride less then 10 miles a day on a flat terrain.

Answer
In that case, I would recommend a hybrid or so-called comfort bike. While you can probably get such a bike at WalMarts or the like, I would be more inclined to go to a local bike shop. They will spend more time making sure the bike fits you properly. At least go to a Sports Authority or Galyan's if you want to spend somewhat less.

Hope this helps,
Scott<>
