Fiberglass question

Question
Hi, I recently purchased a used Silverton 31 convertible. I need to change the name of the boat on the transom. I removed the old vinyl with a heat gun, but there is a lot of adhesive remaining which I need to remove. Is there a good solvent that can remove this adhesive without harming the gelcoat/fiberglass?

Answer
Hello Dave...Thanks for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

There's a really great product called "Goo Gone", and I recommend you first test it on a small and less exposed area. It's available at Wal-Mart and similar retailers. However, best you consult a marine repair facility for proper guidance.
