motor will not shut off

82 yr. 60 hp. evinrude outboard will not shut off, do not think it is the switch. will start fine, but will not shut off. Please help.

Although I'm not a marine mechanic/technician, it definitely sounds like you've got an ignition switch problem. Best you have a qualified and reliable source check it out and undertake the repair.
