Quicksilver throttle adjustment

2016/7/15 18:32:13

Question
Hi. I have a quicksilver throttle connected to a mercry 15 HP outboard. When in forward gear I can't get into neutral by moving  the lever into neutral I need to move it into the reverse position. Can I adjust the cables to sort this problem out? If so do I adjust the cables at the throttle end or engine end?
Alec

Answer
Hi Alec...Thank you for selecting the undersigned to respond to your question.

I'm not a mechanic, but if I recall correctly, the adjustment is made at the engine connection. Do you have the installation instructions that came with the throttle?

Did you properly secure the cable before attempting to do any shifting?  If the cable is loose or slack, it may not respond in the manner you are expecting.
