Question
hello sir, lets suppose i'm a racehorse trainer. should i instruct my jockey to give a warm up by slowly cantering up to the starting gates for a race. or a racehorse doesnt require a warm up upto the starting gates for a race?

Answer
hi-- it depends on your horse. some just walk to the gate and others warm up at the gallop and some just do a lot of jogging to the gate. some horses need a lot of warming up to get ready to break from the gate. some nervous horses do not warm up much so they can keep relaxed  to the gate. thanks Ed Hess
