groom at track

2016/7/15 11:24:25

Question
I've been in horse racing all my life. Starting with my parents training, breeding, and owning them. To myself breeding, training, endurance racing my own horses.I've worked at the track in Seattle, WA. as a teenager. My Mom is widowed but dating a Vet at that track now. I would love to work as a groom at the Aiken SC track, but don't have contacts (my father passed 12 years ago). How do I go about getting work at that track? I live about 45 minutes from that track in South Carolina. Thanks for any help you can give me..

Answer
I personally don't know anyone at that particular track and didn't even know they had racing in SC. The best advice I can give you is to call or go to the track and offer to work cheap, just to get your foot in the door and meet people. Once you get established and people notice dedication and hard work, you'll be getting paid a decent wage in no time.
