Racehorse will not change leads

2016/7/15 11:26:05

Question
I have a 5yo gelding who races 5 1/2 or 6 furlong races and does not change leads. He's a decent runner but would be exceptional if he would change leads and not get tired. Any ideas on how to accomplish this feat?

Answer
hi well there is always a reason for not changing leads. he could have problems behind and that is why he is not changing leads for you in the race. you should have your vet check him out , to see if there is any back end problems. he could have stifles or hocks bothering him. hope this helps you  thanks ED HESS
