Question
I'm a senior at my high school and working on a project that must be debatable! I chose "Horse racing is not cruel or inhuman". I have many supporting details but nothing that I can really go into depth about. What would your response be to all those people who think horse racing is cruel?

Answer
hi,  thank you very much for your question. i have trained and been around race horses and the thoroughbred business for over 30 years and have loved every minute of it. i have seen many wonderful things that have happened in the business. people in the racing business are very professional in training and caring for their horses from day one. breeding, raising, farm work, leg work galloping, vet work feeding  and the actual care in the barn and on the farms. you will have to contact a horse trainer in your area and ask for a personal tour of his or hers training barn on the track or farm to really see what goes on. you will enjoy it and then you can tell all of the people who are having thoughts about the cruel and inhuman practices what you have seen.  thanks ED HESS
