interval runs

Question
Hi there

I'm an 18 year old sportsman and I have been advised to start interval training
by my sports coach. However he was not very specific on lengths of runs etc.

My fitness levels aren't great. So i presumed that i'll just sprint until i
can't go on any longer and then take the interval.

Is that the correct to do interval training?

I am also unsure on the amount of cycles i should do. Could you please advise?

Many thanks

Joe

Answer
Hi Joe
The first thing i need to know before i can advise you on the intervals,is what sport or event if it is track and field, cross country that you are preparing for. Also just curious, why doesn't your coach tell you what kind of workouts to do?Let me know joe.

All the best

John
