Running on toes

2016/7/22 10:12:04

Question
John
I run every day to keep in shape for soccer and hockey.
I recently attended a hockey coaching clinic, where it was stressed that quick starts should be on your toes, and turns and pivots depend on the toes.
With this in mind, would it be appropriate to run on my toes? I might have to start earlier in the morning to avoid getting funny looks ;-)

Answer
Hi Barry
No need to.If you want to improve you should develop some sport specific drills.I would go to your hockey coach and get him to work with you on a good program to max your movment on the ice.Did you check with the people who put on the clinic for some drills you could do.Hope this gives you a little focus Barry.

All the best

John
