Question
What advice would you give to those that are just starting out in the sport?

Answer
Kyle the most important thing is quality instruction.  Take a class from a reputable mountaineering school. You can find a list of them in the back of any of the magazines dedicated to rock climbing.

Indoor facilities offer instruction, but many times these instructors have NEVER climbed outdoors. Indoor instructon is only part a rock climbing education.
