Mossberg 85 - need a magazine

2016/7/22 9:17:31

Question
I have a Mossberg 85 20ga bolt-action shotgun that's in good shape except that it is missing its magazine.

I have spent a lot of time on the internet searching for one without success.  I also left an open order at Numrich Gun Parts, but they had nothing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time,

Ray

Answer
Ray,

You've got a tough one on your hands.  The Mossberg model 85 was only manufactured between 1934 and 1937.  Not having much longevity will make it hard to find parts.  The guys at Numrich have always been my go-to guys.  If they don't have it, it could be tough to find.

One thing that might help, Mongomery Wards sold the Mossberg model 85 under their house brand Western Field.  It was specifically the Western Field Model 16.  You might expand your search to include the Western Field model as well.

Good luck in your search...

Regards,

Doug
