Question
I was reading some posts about the girl in Chicago wanting to open a rink.....This is also MY dream....I want to open one in Temecula, California....and also in Christchurch, New Zealand.........HELP......I have nothing so far...Not sure where to start! Im guessing I need to look for a location?....and then if I find one, then what do I do?

Answer
Hi Shimaine,
I really don't have much to do with building and opening a roller rink, I just teach skating.

What I can tell you is yes, you need to find a building in a safe location that people would like to come to.  Areas where schools are is a great location because the kids will come skate.

You'll need to check to see if the county zoning allows roller rinks too.

Most average skating floors are 85' x 185.  That's a good size.  You'll also need a room for rental skates, a snack bar, lockers, storage room and whatever else you may need.  So when looking for a building, allow for all these things.

The best I can do is refer you to these 2 web sites.  They will help answer a lot of your question.

Good Luck, I wish you much success.
