Question
I bought my roller blades a couple years ago and never used them  because I found out I was pregnant...Now I have used them twice and the wheels aren't gliding...I mean it takes a lot of effort. my sister puts hers on and immediately starts to roll and she can coast for a distance. my wheels don't coast they just stop. What do  I need to do to fix them?

Answer
Hi Rebecca,
If the wheels don't roll and the skates have been sitting for a couple years, I would try putting a couple drops of a light weight oil in the bearings to see if that helps.

If you find that doesn't help, check to make sure the nut that holds the wheel on isn't tightened down to tight.

Sometimes with new skates they pack the bearings in a heavy grease.  It takes a few times of skating to build up enough friction to heat up that grease so the wheel rolls freely.  But try adding a couple drops of oil to see if that works.

You'll see that each bearing as a little ridge.  Just put a couple drops of oil on that ridge then spin the wheel.  Do this with the inside and outside bearing on each wheel.

Good Luck, I hope it works
