ski length for tall people

Question
I am 6'5" 205 lbs, 54 yrs, ski 5-10 days a year, was once advanced but now I don't ski enough to say I'm better than very strong intermediate, able to get through most situations. I like to ski turning runs on blue to black slopes with some moguls. I'm modernizing and am interested in the Salomon X-Wing 10. The longest length available (manufactured) is 174 which comes to my chin. Is height really important, compared to weight? What do you think? Thanks!

Answer
Dear Albert --

Today's skis ski much shorter than the skis of our youth.  The length you need is more determined by your weight and aggressiveness skiing than your height.  Skis, that you will use for all mountain skiing, that come to your chin, sound like the correct length for those Solomons.  Those are great skis (in my opinion); I think you will really like their performance.
