Question
I have bayliner 192 and I need to drain gas tank in it. How can I do it? I was trying to use a hose the way I was draining my tank in the car but it didn't work.PLease help me.

Answer
Dear Jack,

You can pre fill your siphon hose before you put the end in your tank.  Make sure the hose is long enough so that one end can be at the bottom of the tank and the other lower than the tank end by a foot or more after going over the gunwale.  Fill the hose with gas, or even water if you will not be saving the gas drained.  Put a finger or plug over both ends.  Submerge one end in the tank releasing the plug but hold the other end close to the tank liquid and get it under liquid quickly.  Don't let air in it.  Take the other end below the tank liquid level.  The weight of the liquid in the hose will start your siphon action.  Once air gets in the tank end liquid in the hose will drain back into the tank.

Best of luck.
