boat hull question

2016/7/15 18:30:33

Question
"fountain boat hulls, I cant see how these hulls are better that a regular V hull like on a bay liner, how does the steps raise the hull, it appears that you need an awful lot of speed to do so.?"

Answer
Hi Ron...thanks for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

The design of a Bayliner vs a Fountain are substantially different, and it's not fair to compare, because one is a performance boat, the other is a pleasure craft and not specifically designed for speed. Steps can be found on many of the newer models of pleasure crafts, because they create an air pocket and offer lift and less friction or drag over the surface of the water.
