Wellcraft 2400 Martinique rainwater leak

2016/7/15 18:30:38

Question
We have rainwater leaking into the forward cabin area of our 2002 Wellcraft 2400 Martinique. We have tried all obvious leak sources to no avail. Do you have any knowledge of leaks on this type of boat that may help us in identifying the cause of this problem ? Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Answer
Hi Neil...thank you for selecting the undersigned to reply to your question.

Although I'm not familiar with your particular model of Wellcraft, I suggest you double check the hull/deck joint, which is usually covered by a gunwale molding. Also check any other areas where optional equipment may have been installed on the forward deck. If a sealant wasn't used when the screws or bolts were inserted, that might be a source of leakage. Also check your anchor rode locker.
